Manikaran in Kullu

Manikaran is located in one of the most beautiful location in Kullu. It is famous pilgrimage site for the Sikh and Hindus as it has the famous Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara, ancient Shiv temple and the hot water springs within the complex. Thousands of pilgrims visit every year to offer their prayers and seek blessings from the lord. The Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara and the ancient Shiv temple are surrounded beauty of the Parvati Valley and the River Parvati flowing beside it. The Manikaran Hot Water Springs located within the complex of Gurudwara are believed to have therapeutic values. The temperature of these Hot Water Springs ranges from boiling to lukewarm and this water is used in cooking food in the community kitchen in the Gurudwara. This food is offered in the form of langar to the visitors. According to Hindu Mythology it is believed that Goddess Parvati lost her earring in this water of Manikaran, and when Lord Shiv tried to get it back, the water became hot due to his powers. Manikaran is breathtakingly beautiful as it is surrounded by the green valleys, the majestic snow covered mountain ranges, the meadows, the dense forest comprising of evergreen trees and the charming Parvati River flowing through it.
