The best time to visit the Chandratal Lake is during the months from July to October when the climate is favorable and the roads are open. The region is covered with snow throughout the year and during the other months; it experiences heavy snowfall and harsh climatic conditions.

How to Reach Chandratal Lake?

To reach Chandratal Lake, travel to Manali and then drive to Batal via Rohtang Pass and Kunzum Pass. From Batal, it’s a 14 km trek or a drive if conditions permit. Alternatively, trek from Kunzum Pass (8 km). Both routes offer breathtaking views of the Spiti Valley.

To reach Chandratal Lake, travelers will have to reach Manali first, from here they have to drive till Batal through Rohtang Pass and Kunzum Pass. Once you reach Batal or Kunzum, you can trek till the lake. From Batal the trek is 14 km and from Kunzum Pass the trek is 8 km.
